The Story of The Oaks

The Oaks was named to represent the arched canopy of century-old oak trees that have been the hallmark of Jamestown's West Third Street NY Corridor for many generations. There is a rich history of the property upon which the hotel now sits which was part of the original acreage purchased by the Jamestown City Founder James Prendergast in 1809. This created a settlement dedicated to timber milling.

The Oaks which a 10, 000 sq ft mini Tudor castle was built by the regionally well-known architect Raymond Freeburg in 1930, the hotel preserves many of the original home's features such as the inlaid artwork on the exposed ceiling beams, pictorial ceramic tiles, and slate room.

The Oaks features ten refurbished guestrooms with either in-room ensuites or private bathrooms,, all rooms uniquely decorated for comfort, and well spaced for privacy.

We have a main common lounge area and a formal dining hall. There are two outdoor patios and a large private courtyard. The courtyard during the summer season has a firepit for our guests to enjoy as long as the seasons allow. There is a large screen t.v. in the academy where we have weekend movie and game nights. We offer in-house certified Reiki treatments, Spiritual healing which take place in our silence policy meditation room called The Oak Tree.

On location, we have The Oaks Spiritual Academy (T.O.S.A.) which is a popular location for very high calibre well-known teachers to to present and teach.

All rooms have free WiFi, hair dryers, towels, complimentary continental breakfast daily, and permitted on-street parking.

Did you forget something?

We just may have:

Razor, and or shaving cream... Got it!

Toothbrush or toothpaste...Got it!

Dental floss?

Earplugs?

Shower cap?

Think of it once you arrive...we just may have it!

If we don't we will make sure we do!

Every room also has a blow dryer.

We have shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion. There are bath towels, hand towels, facecloths, and shower mats. We also have robes if you need one. If your clothes are creased we have irons and ironing boards.

Our intention is to not only be Your Home Away From Home but for you to feel as though you are Home Away From Home.

Picnic Anyone?

With some notice, we can be quite creative and put together a lovely picnic basket for you. It could be just for your own personal pamper, for yourself and Fido, or it could be for two or a few. It could also be a romantic picnic at sunset (did I say we are hopeless romantics??)

It could be for lunch or dinner.

We could recommend some lovely spots to visit and enjoy your picnic. Jamestown has multiple beautiful natural sites to relax and enjoy.

Don't be afraid to ask, chances are someone else is probably thinking it too. We could have already been ready for your question and it is simply for the asking!

Weekend Getaway, Surprise Romantic Weekend, A Special Occasion?

We are hopeless romantics, we love a good surprise and we absolutely love being the organizers of it!

Oh, and we can keep a secret....and very well too!

Visiting in town and you have friends that live locally, you want to do something special? Did you think about how you would love to have them over for dinner, or a BBQ but they live so far away....but you are here at The Oaks right now! Why not? We have a BBQ! We have a beautiful courtyard and a lovely dining room.
